The kickoff meeting for the upcoming project “Bridging Cultures” held by PRISMS, brought together youth workers from around the region who specialize in working with migrant populations. This innovative program aims to foster greater cultural understanding and provide mentoring relationships for newly arrived young migrants seeking to adjust to their new communities.
The meeting marked the launch of an ambitious project to pair youth workers with unaccompanied minors from diverse cultural backgrounds. Youth workers gained insight into the challenges faced by young migrants, while offering guidance and support as they navigate a new country. Meanwhile, migrant youth will had the opportunity to learn about local culture and customs from a caring mentor.
With the guidance of skilled facilitators, the kickoff meeting allowed youth workers to articulate their goals, identify key challenges, and map out plans for the program. They also held important conversations about cross-cultural communication, and strategies for forging meaningful relationships across differences.
