Wissam Masoud on the Power of Integration Through Cultural Exchange in Denmark and Beyond! VIDEO!

Wissam Masoud, a 22-year-old from Syria residing in Denmark, shared his experiences and insights into the importance of integration and cultural exchange as part of the recent program in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Representing the Danish organization Crossing Borders, Wissam highlighted the transformative impact of programs focused on integration, migration, and mentoring.

“My name is Wissam Masoud. I am Syrian, and I live in Denmark. Through this course, I learned about the power of integration and how we can use it to build a more harmonious, peaceful society by bringing all cultures together,” Wissam shared.

He emphasized the critical role of initiatives that foster cultural understanding and community building, referencing Denmark’s community space, Finjan, as a successful example.

“In Denmark, we already do a lot of good work at Finjan, where people from diverse backgrounds come together to discuss, experience each other’s cultures, and break down barriers that stand in the way of living together.”

Wissam expressed gratitude for the interactive workshops and activities, which provided practical strategies for integration, such as cultural dialogue and collaborative projects that unite individuals from different backgrounds. “To see the small results in each one of us brings happiness and is a reminder of why we continue. It also increases our ambition for a future where we can look each other in the eyes and thank each other for this collective journey,” he noted passionately.

The program, held in Slovenia’s capital, received praise from participants for its engaging structure and inclusive approach. Wissam described the experience as “very useful and something I would recommend to anyone who has something to offer and wants to learn from others.” His participation highlights the significance of building community connections that foster empathy, mutual respect, and integration on a broader, more impactful scale.
